Abz First Trip

Abz and the First Mate on the Abi J

Sunday was the first real trip out for Abigail Jenna with a bit of a wander up through the Thorne wobbly pedestrian bridge crashing through the ice as we go.

Up through Thorne Lock which at 61ft plus a bit is a good fit for Abi being as she is 60ft in length. On board for this trip was the real Abigail Jenna who was in charge and her First Mate Jenny along with Joan and Ifor the bilge monkey.

I can’t help but wonder what was going through the minds of those liveaboard boaters that we passed by. With the amount of noise made by the swans the other day the sound on board us was load enough.

This was Abz first trip on Abi and although she is still a bit on the short side she gave it a go at steering. She has decided that she is now big enough to steer the boat through the locks so that I am now able get out and operate them.
